Origin
The Anthurium Orange Champion, also known as the flamingo plant, has its origin in the rainforests of South and Central America. The plant belongs to the Araceae family, which comprises about 1000 species. The majority of these species are found in tropical regions.
Characteristics
The Anthurium Orange Champion is distinct because of its vibrant orange flowers that bloom throughout the year. This ornate plant has dark green, glossy leaves and the flowers are characterised by their heart shape and a yellow spadix. Moreover, at maturity, the plant reaches a height of approximately 60 cm.
Care
The care of the Anthurium Orange Champion requires a warm and well-lit environment with indirect sunlight. The plant also needs high humidity and it should be ensured that the soil lightly dries out between watering sessions. The plant is not frost resistant and it is best to keep it indoors during the winter months. It is recommended to feed the plant with liquid fertiliser once per quarter to promote healthy growth.
