DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Chlorophytum comosum 'Ocean', also known as the Spider Plant, has its roots in South Africa. It is a graceful plant that became particularly popular in Western Europe during the 19th century. The plant was first named by the French botanist Jacques Denys Choisy in 1851.

Characteristics
The Chlorophytum comosum 'Ocean' is an evergreen perennial plant. It has lance-shaped leaves that are green in colour with white stripes along the edges. This plant sends out hanging stems with small white flowers and young plants at the ends, providing a beautiful, almost waterfall-like appearance. The maximum height of the plant varies but is around 60 cm.

Care
This plant prefers moderate conditions with indirect sunlight. It is fairly tolerant of various conditions, but it can develop brown leaf tips if exposed to overly bright sunlight or too cold temperatures. It needs regular watering, but must not stand in stagnant water as this can cause root rot. The plant thrives well in standard potting soil for indoor plants. From spring through autumn, monthly feeding with a balanced fertiliser is recommended for optimal growth.
