DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Trichocereus pasacana originates from South America, particularly from the northwestern part of Argentina and the highlands of Bolivia. However, there is uncertainty about the exact origin, as the species has spread to different regions due to human intervention.

Characteristics
The Trichocereus pasacana, also known as Pasaqana, is characterised as a colossal cactus, and can grow up to ten meters or more in the wild. It has a deep grey to blue-green colour and has 10 to 15 ribs covered with thorns. It is a very slow-growing species and blooms sporadically, usually only when the plant is mature. The flowers are large, bell-shaped, and bloom primarily at night.

Care
Despite the size of the Trichocereus pasacana, the care is not too complex. The cactus prefers a sunny location and can tolerate drought very well. Overwatering should be avoided, as this can cause root rot. The temperature changes should be minimal, as the plant does not tolerate cold well. In winter, it is advised to bring the cactus indoors to avoid frost damage.
