Origin
The Philodendron 'Subhastatum' originally comes from Central and South America, particularly from the regions with a tropical climate. It belongs to the Araceae family and is naturally an epiphytic plant, meaning that it typically grows on other trees in the wild without parasitising them.

Characteristics
The Philodendron 'Subhastatum' is a popular houseplant and is characterised by its elongated, heart-shaped leaves, which are green and turn red with enough sunlight. The leaves have a shiny top side and a matte underside. The plant can grow to be approximately 1 metre in length and produces creeping stems, making it ideal to place on a high shelf or in a hanging basket.

Care
Regarding the care of the Philodendron 'Subhastatum', it is known to prefer indirect sunlight and temperatures between 18°C and 27°C. They require moist, yet well-draining soil and should never be overwatered, as this can cause root rot. It is advisable to fertilise the plant once a month, except for in the winter. It's best to avoid moving the plant around, as it will take some time for it to adapt to its new environment.
