Origin
The Dracaena fragrans 'Kanzi', also known as the Dragon Tree, originates from tropical Africa. The plant is native mainly to countries such as Sudan, Mozambique, Ivory Coast, and Angola. The name 'Dracaena' is derived from the Greek word 'drakaina', which means 'female dragon', and 'fragrans' refers to the sweet scent that the plant's flowers give off.

Characteristics
The Dracaena fragrans 'Kanzi' is an easy-to-care-for indoor plant with an unusual, architectural beauty. This Dragon Tree belongs to the agave family and is distinguished by its narrow, long leaves that are rich in green with yellowish hues. The trunk is dark grey and takes on a columnar shape. Although flowering does not occur frequently, particularly indoors, in nature the plant produces sweet, fragrant flowers in clusters.

Care
The Dracaena fragrans 'Kanzi' requires minimal care and thrives in a wide range of conditions, making it a favourite among novice plant owners. The plant prefers bright, indirect light but can also thrive well in semi-shade. Regular watering during the growing season and moderate watering in the winter is sufficient. However, overwatering should be avoided as this can lead to root rot. The Dracaena fragrans 'Kanzi' is relatively impervious to pests and diseases, and can thrive well at average room temperatures.
