Origin
The Guzmania Flava is a plant species that belongs to the Bromeliad family. This tropical plant originally hails from Central and South America. The plant is most common in the rainforests of these regions. Historically, the plant was first described in 1974.

Characteristics
The Guzmania Flava is characterized by its striking yellow flowers, hence the name Flava which means yellow. The plant has thin, long leaves that form a rosette. In the middle of this rosette, the inflorescence, which can reach up to 70 centimeters in height, forms. The flowers of the Guzmania Flava bloom for about 3 to 6 months and are scentless.

When caring for the Guzmania Flava, it is important to maintain a lightly moist soil and high air humidity as these are the conditions in its natural habitat. The plant cannot tolerate direct sunlight but requires a lot of indirect light. If the air or soil is too dry, the plant may acquire brown leaves. For indoor care, the plant fares best at room temperature, it cannot withstand frost.
