Origin
The Bromelia Yellow, also known as the Bromelia Guzmania Yellow, has its origin in Central and South America. The name is derived from the Swedish medical botanist Olof Bromelius. The plant is part of the Bromeliaceae family, a family known for its tropical origin and diversity of species.

Characteristics
The Bromelia Yellow is recognisable by its bright yellow flowers that grow in a star-shaped pattern. It has green leaves that fan out in a rosette pattern, in which water is regularly collected. The plant has an average height that varies between 30 and 50 centimetres. The Bromelia Yellow is an epiphytic plant, meaning it grows on other plants in nature without damaging them.

Care
The Bromelia Yellow prefers a light site, but cannot tolerate direct sunlight. Water is best given in the cup of the plant, as this matches its natural growth behaviour. This should be done with rainwater or softened water to avoid lime deposits. Finally, the Bromelia Yellow is a one-time bloomer: after flowering, the mother plant slowly dies off, but usually does produce one or more offshoots that can in turn grow into a new plant.
