Athyrium spicatum 12/tray
4ATSPBU05
Origin
The Pellionia repens is a houseplant originally from Vietnam and parts of Malaysia. The wet climate and forest gardens of these regions provide the ideal growing conditions for this plant. The Pellionia repens is also known under the name of 'Procris repens'.
Characteristics
The most striking characteristic of the Pellionia repens is its beautifully coloured foliage, which can vary between green and purple-brown. The leaf has a distinctive wavy pattern with light green veins. The plant usually stays low and spreads out as a ground cover. The plant blooms, but the small, inconspicuous flowers are often overlooked.
Care
The Pellionia repens is a relatively easy plant to care for. The plant likes a shady place, out of direct sunlight. The soil should be kept constantly moist, without saturating it, as the plant is sensitive to root rot. The Pellionia repens prefers high humidity and thrives at room temperature. As with most houseplants, it is advised to apply a standard fertiliser during the growing season.
