Recently, 18 new charging stations for electric cars were commissioned in our car park on the Hoofdweg. This marks the first steps towards an important sustainability goal, namely to have the entire Nieuwkoop Europe fleet electric by 2026.
A more sustainable organisation
Nieuwkoop Europe is constantly working towards a more sustainable organisation. We generate electricity through solar panels, we store rainwater in our basins and underground water storage, and we have received the ISO 14001:2015 certification. This certification indicates that environmental management is central to us. The 2026 target for the organisation's fleet to be completely green therefore fits in with the transition to sustainable solutions and, in the longer term, a completely self-sufficient company. In the coming period, the cars in Nieuwkoop's fleet will be replaced by electric cars.
Charging points for more than 40 cars
The 18 new charging stations on the site each have two connection points, allowing 36 cars to charge simultaneously. Together with the other charging points on the site, we can now supply power to more than 40 electric and hybrid cars.
A green future
When it comes to sustainability and the environment, we are constantly moving forward. For example, we will very soon be completely replacing the paint in our spray cabin with water-based paint. We are looking into the possibilities of storing our solar energy so that it can be used at times when there is less daylight. We are also looking for alternative heat sources to enable us to switch away from gas in the future. Naturally, we will continue to keep you informed of our steps towards more sustainable business operations.
