Origin
The Aglaonema Mix, also known as the Chinese Evergreen, originates from the tropical and subtropical regions of Asia and New Guinea. Here, the plant grows in the lowlands and mountainous areas, often in shady locations.
Characteristics
The Aglaonema Mix is characterised by its wide, shiny leaves which are often richly marked with striking patterns of silver, white or red. The plant can grow between 30 and 60 cm in height. A unique characteristic of the Aglaonema Mix is the flowering habit, which consists of a small, white bract containing the actual flower.
Care
An Aglaonema Mix requires little sunlight and can therefore easily be placed in semi-shade. The plant does not like direct sunlight, so a spot by a north-facing window is ideal. In terms of water requirements, the Aglaonema Mix does not need much, the soil may be slightly moist, but not waterlogged. The temperature for optimal growth is between 16 and 24 degrees Celsius.
