Origin
The Pinus mugo Sherwood Compact, also known as the Mountain Pine, finds its origin in the mountain ranges of Central and Southern Europe. The plant is characteristic of the alpine landscape and is frequently found in high-altitude coniferous forests. Over the years, the species has adapted to the challenging conditions at high elevations, making it highly hardy and winter-resistant.

Characteristics
The Pinus mugo Sherwood Compact is a compact shrub-like evergreen that grows very slowly. This shrub can reach a height of 50 to 150 centimetres and has bright green needles that remain green throughout the year. The plant produces small round pine cones that, like the needles, remain on the plant all year round. As the plant ages, it develops a heavier and more pronounced trunk.

Care
The Pinus mugo Sherwood Compact requires little maintenance due to its robust nature. The plant tolerates full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil. Although the plant is drought tolerant, regular watering during prolonged droughts is advised. Pruning is not necessary, unless to maintain the shape. The plant is very hardy in winter, surviving the severe winter cold without any extra care or protection.
