Origin
The Cortaderia selloana mix, also known as the pampas grass, originates from South America. It is an ornamental grass native to countries like Argentina, Brazil, and Chile. Within nature, this plant grows on the vast pampas, hence the nickname pampas grass.

Characteristics
Cortaderia selloana is a robust, perennial grass plant known for its imposing appearance. The plant can reach a height of 2 to 5 meters and has long, green-grey leaves with sharp edges. The most notable characteristics are the large, white, soft plumes that rise high above the leaves. These usually appear in late summer and remain on the plant during the winter months.

Care
Successfully growing the Cortaderia selloana mix requires a sunny spot with well-drained soil. The plant is very drought-resistant and can tolerate temperatures down to -15 degrees Celsius. Pruning is generally not necessary unless the plant becomes too large. It is advisable to remove the dead plumes at the end of winter before the new growing season begins.
