Origin

Characteristics

The plant displays a mix of green, lime green and yellowish leaves throughout the year. The leaves resemble those of bamboo, which explains its nickname heavenly bamboo. Moreover, in early summer, this graceful shrub can bear small white flowers, which later in the season can develop into striking red berries.

The Nandina domestica Magical Lemon and Lime is an easy to care for plant. It thrives best in a sunny to semi-shaded location. It's a hardy shrub that is generally resistant to diseases and pests. An annual pruning in early spring can enhance the plant’s growth and shape. Although it is drought-tolerant, preference is given for the soil to be consistently moist.
