Origin
The Pachypodium succulentum, also known as the Succulent Madagascar Palm, has its origin in Madagascar, Africa. This species is specifically found in the southern part of the island and is adapted to the dry, rocky landscapes.
Characteristics
The Pachypodium succulentum is a unique succulent with a tree-like structure. A distinguishing feature is its thick, spiny trunk from which thin, blue-green leaves grow. The trunk can grow up to a meter high. In the spring, the plant produces small, yellow flowers.
Care
In terms of care, the Pachypodium succulentum requires a sunny location with well-drained soil to grow optimally. Indoors, the plant needs to be kept at a temperature of at least 10 degrees Celsius. During the growing period, the plant needs regular watering, but this should be significantly reduced in winter (resting period).
