Origin
The Aloe dichotoma, also known as the Quiver tree, originates from the dry regions of South Africa and Namibia. It thrives primarily on dry, rocky slopes and in semi-arid, sandy areas. This species belongs to the Asphodelaceae family and is now protected to ensure the preservation of wild populations.

Characteristics
The Aloe dichotoma is a remarkable plant, known notably for its distinctive, often branching trunk resembling a quiver, hence the name Quiver tree. It typically grows to a height of up to 10 metre and has a smooth, grey-green bark and an irregular crown. The leaves are blue-green and appear in clusters at the ends of the branches. The plant also produces clusters of bright, yellow flowers during the winter months.

Care
Caring for the Aloe dichotoma requires familiarity with its specific needs. It's essential to know that this plant requires good drainage to prevent root rot – sandy or rocky soil would be ideal. It also needs full sun to stay healthy. Although it's very drought-tolerant, the Aloe dichotoma benefits from regular watering during the growing season, but it is important to reduce this during the winter. It is also a hardy plant, able to withstand temperatures down to -6 degrees Celsius.
