Origin
The Echeveria runyonii 'Pink Edge', also known as Ruchina, originated in Mexico. This succulent from the Crassulaceae family, is a popular species within the Echeveria genus. The name 'Pink Edge' is due to the distinctive pink hue on the edges of the fleshy leaves.
Characteristics
The Echeveria runyonii 'Pink Edge' has fleshy, spade-shaped, bluish-green leaves. These leaves often show a distinctive, almost grey-pink hue at the edge as the plant ages. This succulent forms rosettes of 10-15 cm in diameter and produces bell-shaped, orange-yellow flowers on long, thin stalks from late summer to spring.
Care
The Echeveria runyonii 'Pink Edge' generally requires low to moderate watering. It is best to let the soil fully dry out between watering. This plant enjoys a position in bright, indirect sunlight, but can also grow in partial shade. The plant tolerates temperatures up to -1 degree Celsius, but does not like persisting cold or frost. In a lot of bright light, the pink tint on the edges can become more prominent.
