DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Areca vestiaria, also known as the red areca palm, originates from Indonesia. This unique plant specifically finds its origin in the rich volcanic soils of Sulawesi, an island in Northeast Indonesia. In the wild, the plant often grows on slopes and in mountainous areas, where it reaches elevations of about 3000 metres.

Characteristics
The Areca vestiaria is particularly known for its intense red to orange-coloured leaves and crown. This is a unique feature that sets this Areca species apart from others. The plant often grows to a height of about 2 to 4 metres, although mature specimens can reach up to 10 metres high under the right conditions. The flowers are bright yellow and provide a striking contrast with the red leaves.

Care
As for the care of the Areca vestiaria, this palm prefers a warm, humid climate, similar to its original habitat in Sulawesi. Well-drained soil is essential for the healthy growth of this palm. It is also important to provide the plant with ample light, but direct sunlight should be avoided if possible, particularly during the hottest parts of the day. Regular watering helps maintain the highest growth rates, but it is crucial to prevent excess water in order to avoid root rot.
