Origin
The Anthurium Red Champion, also known as the Flamingo Flower, has its origin in the humid, shady rainforests of Central and South America. The plant family to which this species belongs, the Araceae or Arum family, comprises more than a thousand species that are mainly found in rainforests and subtropical areas.
Characteristics
The Anthurium Red Champion is known for its striking red, heart-shaped bracts and its characteristic, upright flower spadices. These are produced all year round and stay colour-fast for a long time. The plant reaches a height of about 40 to 60 centimetres and is not frost hardy. The leaf is glossy green and has an oval shape with a pointed tip.
Care
When caring for the Anthurium Red Champion, attention should be paid to both lighting and watering. The plant needs a lot of indirect sunlight and should therefore be placed in a well-lit spot, but out of direct sunlight. In addition, even watering is necessary, with the advice to keep the soil lightly moist, but certainly not to drown it. The ideal temperature for good growth is between 20 and 22 degrees Celsius.
