Origin
The Phalaenopsis Ola is a popular variety of orchid with an origin in Southeast Asia, specifically the Philippines and Indonesia. The plant is named after this area because it grows naturally there. However, the development of this specific variety has mainly taken place in the Netherlands, where plant cultivation is highly advanced.
Characteristics
The Phalaenopsis Ola is distinguished by its elegant appearance with large, satiny flowers. The petals are typically pink with white and purple hues, and it has a yellow heart. The plant blooms with a cluster of flowers on a single, upright stem. On average, the Phalaenopsis Ola grows 60 to 80 cm high.
Care
The Phalaenopsis Ola requires specific care for optimal growth and flowering. The plant thrives in a warm environment with high humidity. The best way to water the plant is by placing the pot in a layer of water for about fifteen minutes and then letting it drain well. The Phalaenopsis Ola requires fertilisation once every three weeks with special orchid fertiliser.
