Origin
The Curcuma Siam Splash, also known as the Siam Tulip, has its origin in Thailand. It is a tropical plant, native to the humid and warm regions of Southeast Asia. The name 'Siam' refers to the former kingdom in this area. They are predominantly found in the wild in the Thai forests and mountains.
Characteristics
The Curcuma Siam Splash is a striking plant with its remarkable leaves and flowers. The plant has an attractive green-yellow foliage with a unique, striped or speckled pattern. The flowers are pink to purple, bundled in a fluffy, cone-shaped blossom. They can grow up to 60 cm high and generally bloom in the summer.
Care
The care of the Curcuma Siam Splash requires some attention to keep the plant in optimal condition. The plant thrives in a humid environment and prefers semi-shade, where it is protected from intense sunlight. Regular watering, especially during the growing season, is essential. In the winter the soil can dry out. During the dormant phase, when the leaves and flowers wilt, it only needs minimal care. The roots can survive in dry soil until the next growing season.
