Origin
The Caladium mix, also known as elephant ears, has its origin in South and Central America. It grows in tropical rainforests, where the climate is hot and humid.
Characteristics
The Caladium mix is characterised by its large heart-shaped leaves which are adorned with colourful patterns and shades, ranging from white, pink, and red to different shades of green. Additionally, this plant grows in a tuberous form in the ground. The plant can reach a height of about 60 centimetres and a width of around 40 centimetres.
Care
The Caladium mix requires higher humidity and heat to grow properly. The plant prefers a light location, but not in direct sunlight. When watering the plant, it's important to ensure that the soil remains moist, but is not soaked through. In the winter months, the plant requires a rest period where it needs less water and a cooler location.
