Origin
The Dieffenbachia Camilla, also known as the Tropical Maranta, finds its origin in the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. These regions are known for their high humidity and moderate temperatures, conditions that promote the growth of the Dieffenbachia Camilla. This plant family is named after the German botanist Ernst Dieffenbach.
Characteristics
The Dieffenbachia Camilla is recognisable by its shiny, broad leaves with a striking green-white pattern. The leaves are elliptical in shape and can be about 20 centimetres long. Its stems are thick and sturdy, giving the plant a robust look. This ornamental plant can reach a height of about 1 meter.
Care
The care for Dieffenbachia Camilla requires some attention. It thrives best in indirect sunlight and in an environment with high humidity. Since it enjoys the tropics, it prefers a temperature that does not drop below 16 degrees Celsius. Watering should take place once a week during the growing period, and once every two weeks during the resting period. Overwatering should be avoided, as it can cause root rot.
