Origin
The Adiantum Raddianum 'Fritz-Luthi', also known as Maidenhair fern, is a popular house plant originally from the tropical and subtropical rainforest in South America. Initially, the plant thrives in the shady, moist environment of the undergrowth where it is primarily found on rocky slopes and along water streams.
Characteristics
The plant is characterised by its fine, graceful and distinctive green leaves that hang on black, thread-like foliage, giving it a unique, delicate appearance. The leaves are teardrop-shaped, curled and airy, which creates a feathery effect. The plant can grow up to 50 cm high under optimal conditions. Furthermore, it is a fast-growing plant that produces young shoots all year round if properly taken care of.
Care
When caring for the Adiantum Raddianum 'Fritz-Luthi', its natural growth environment should be taken into account. It prefers a location with indirect sunlight and favours high humidity. Additionally, the soil should be consistently lightly moist, but must never become waterlogged. Generally, the plant is not very frost-hardy and therefore needs to be kept indoors during colder months.
