Origin
The Platycladus orientalis 'Aurea Nana' is part of the Cupressaceae family and originally comes from the far east of Asia. It is a popular species in countries like China and Japan, where it is often grown in traditional horticulture and on sacred burial grounds.

Characteristics
The main characteristic of the Platycladus orientalis 'Aurea Nana' is its compact, conical shape and rich, green needles. The plants have male and female cones, but these are almost invisible to the naked eye, as they are only 2mm in size. The plant, also known as the Chinese Thuja, does not grow taller or wider than 1 metre, which makes it ideal for smaller gardens or cultivation areas.
