Origin
The Molinia caerulea mix tray, also known as Purple Moor-grass, has its origin in the temperate and cool parts of Eurasia. It is mainly found in marshland and on damp heathlands.
Characteristics
The Purple Moor-grass is a perennial plant from the grass family. Characteristics of this plant are the bright green, reed-like stems and leaves that it carries in the spring and summer. In the autumn, the colour changes to yellowish-brown, whilst the plant maintains its ornamental value. The height of the plant can vary between 0.8 to 2 metres, depending on the species.
Care
Maintaining the Molinia caerulea mix tray is relatively straightforward. The plant thrives best in a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Pruning annually in early spring helps to preserve the plant's health and appearance. Although the plant is tolerant to drought, it prefers a medium to high soil moisture content.
