Origin
The Anthurium 'Livium Ruby' is a houseplant originally from the tropical parts of Central and South America. This plant is a member of the Araceae family, known for its tropical and often colourful members. The natural habitat of the 'Livium Ruby' lies in the damp, shady undergrowth of forests and rainforests.
Characteristics
The 'Livium Ruby' is a type of Anthurium that stands out because of its intense, ruby-red flowers. These flowers, also called spathes, are shiny and heart-shaped, surrounded by dark green, glossy leaves. The plant has an upright growth habit and can grow up to 45 centimetres high. Moreover, the 'Livium Ruby' blooms almost continuously, thereby adding vitality and colour to a room all year round.
Care
The 'Livium Ruby' thrives best in a semi-shady environment with indirect sunlight. It's essential to keep the plant's soil moist at all times, without leaving the water in the pot. The ideal room temperature for this plant is between 15°C and 25°C. In addition to regular watering, this plant also needs regular feeding, preferably every four weeks with a liquid fertiliser specifically for flowering pot plants.
