Origin
The Echeveria 'Taurus', a succulent species, originates from the semi-arid areas of Central America, particularly Mexico. This plant family is named after the 18th-century Mexican botanical artist Atanasio Echeverría.
Characteristics
The Echeveria 'Taurus' is characterised by its juicy, fat-rich leaves that form a star-shaped pattern. The leaves are usually green with red tips, with the red colour becoming stronger as the plant receives more sunlight. The plant also produces small, bell-shaped flowers on thin stems, usually in shades of yellow, orange or red. In a mature state, the Echeveria 'Taurus' can reach a height and diameter of about 30 cm.
Care
The Echeveria 'Taurus' requires minimal care. This plant prefers bright, indirect sunlight and well-draining soil conditions. It is also resistant to short periods of drought, meaning it only needs water occasionally. Overwatering can cause root rot, a common problem with succulents. During the winter months, the plant can tolerate low temperatures, but freezing cold should be avoided.
