Origin
The Haworthia limifolia Roux, also known as the Fairy Washboard, is a compact, slow-growing species from the Haworthia genus. This succulent is native to South Africa, where it is primarily found in the dry, rocky landscape of KwaZulu-Natal.
Characteristics
This species is characterised by its distinctive star-shaped growth pattern and the stiff, dark green leaves with horizontal stripes that resemble wrinkles and taper to a point inwardly. The leaves form a rosette and can grow up to a height of about ten centimetres. In the spring, the Haworthia limifolia produces small, delicate white flowers on tall stems.
Care
The Haworthia limifolia Roux is an easy-to-care-for plant that thrives well in partial shade or bright indoor lighting. An ideal substrate for the plant is a well-draining soil mix for cacti and succulents. Watering is necessary when the soil is completely dry, usually once every two weeks in the growing season and reduced in the winter. The ideal temperature for this plant lies between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius.
