Origin
The Mammillaria albata var. sanciro originally comes from Mexico, where it grows wild in the regions of Guerrero, Puebla and Oaxaca. It belongs to the Cactaceae family, a large family of many different types of cacti. The plant is also referred to as Mammillaria albilanata.

Characteristics
Mammillaria albata var. sanciro is characterised by its spherical and compact shape, which can grow to about 10 centimetres in diameter. The plant has numerous dense, white hairs that completely cover the trunk. In addition, the cactus bears small, funnel-shaped flowers during the blooming period, these are usually white in colour.

Care
For optimal growth, the Mammillaria albata var. sanciro needs a lot of light and should be planted in well-draining soil. Watering should be done in moderation, as overwatering can cause root rot. During the winter months, it is advisable to keep the cactus in a cooler place and rarely give it water. The plant is fairly hardy in winter, but cannot tolerate frost.
