Origin
The Dracaena deremensis 'Black beauty', commonly known as the 'Dragon Tree', has its origin in Africa. It is a subtropical plant that grows in the wild in open fields and on rocky landscapes. This variety of plant is often used as an ornamental plant in both interiors and landscapes due to its graceful and unique appearance.
Characteristics
The 'Black beauty' is one of the variants of the Dracaena deremensis and is distinguished by its dark green leaves. The leaves of the plant are long and narrow with wavy edges, and spiral around the plant's trunk. This plant can grow up to 10 metres high with a slow-growing, woody trunk. The Dracaena deremensis 'Black beauty' has a strong, upright growth habit which makes the plant a striking appearance.
Care
The Dracaena deremensis 'Black beauty' requires relatively little care. It enjoys bright, indirect light but can also survive in partially shaded conditions. It cannot tolerate temperatures below 15 degrees Celsius and has moderate water needs; watering when the top layer of soil feels dry is sufficient.
