Origin
The Philodendron 'Painted lady' is part of the Araceae family and originates from the tropical regions of South America. The plant can be found particularly in countries such as Brazil, Bolivia and Argentina. The 'Painted lady' is part of the genus Philodendron, one of the largest genera within flowering plants with approximately 500 different species.

Characteristics
Characteristic of the Philodendron 'Painted lady' are its variegated, heart-shaped leaves that can range from green to almost yellow. The leaves are characterised by their irregular stripes and spots, hence the name 'Painted lady'. An adult 'Painted lady' can reach a height of about 1 meter. It is a climbing plant, which makes this plant ideal for growing on a moss pole.

Care
The 'Painted lady', like most Philodendron species, needs sufficient light, but can't tolerate direct sunlight. The plant prefers a warm environment with a temperature between 18 and 27 degrees Celsius. The plant requires well-drained soil and should be watered regularly, but it is essential to avoid waterlogging. Additionally, it is recommended to fertilise the plant with a balanced fertiliser once a month during the growing season.
