Phoenix roebelenii

Origin
The Archontophoenix alexandrae, also known as the King Palm, originally comes from Australia. This beautiful tree grows in the humid rainforests of the coastal regions in the northeast of the country. It is a tropical plant species that under optimal conditions can also thrive in other warm and humid parts of the world.
Characteristics
The King Palm is characterized by its slender, long trunk and its elegantly overhanging leaves. The tree can reach a height of up to 25 meters with a canopy of leaves that can be 3 to 4 meters wide. The leaves themselves are feathered and can reach a length of up to 2.5 meters. This palm also produces small, bright red berries after flowering, which serve as a food source for various bird species.
Care
The Archontophoenix alexandrae requires regular watering and thrives best in nutrient-rich, well-draining soil. It prefers a full or partial sun location and will grow less well in the shade. This palm is not resistant to low temperatures and is therefore most suited for cultivation in warm, tropical or subtropical climates. Although it has reasonable tolerance to drought, it performs best with regular watering and feeding.
