DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Dieffenbachia 'Camilla' is part of the Araceae family and originally comes from the tropics of Central and South America. This evergreen plant was discovered by European colonialists and brought to Europe. During the Victorian era, the Dieffenbachia became very popular as a house plant due to its unique appearance and easy care. The plant owes its name to the German horticulturist Ernst Dieffenbach.

Characteristics
The Dieffenbachia 'Camilla' is an attractive plant with large, glossy leaves. The leaves have a striking, cream colour in the centre, surrounded by a deep green edge. This variant is more compact than other types of Dieffenbachia and usually grows up to a height of about 90 centimetres. The 'Camilla' sometimes blooms, with cream-coloured blossoms that are enveloped by a green bract.

Care
Caring for a Dieffenbachia 'Camilla' requires placing the plant in a spot with indirect sunlight and ideally a temperature between 18 and 24 degrees Celsius. Too much direct sunlight can cause the leaves to fade. The plant needs regular watering, but too much water can cause root rot. It is recommended to lightly fertilise the plant every two weeks but only during the growth period. The 'Camilla' enjoys high humidity and the leaf is best regularly sprayed with water.
