Origin
The Acer Palmatum 'Osakazuki' originates from Japan and belongs to the family of maples. It is one of the oldest cultivars and has gained much popularity all over the world during its existence. People particularly love this maple for its vibrant colours and individual shape.

Characteristics
The Acer Palmatum 'Osakazuki' is known for its dramatically changing colours according to the season. In spring, its leaves show a vibrant green colour that turns into flaming red in autumn. The brief flowering period in spring produces small purple flowers and winged seed cases are formed in summer. This plant is characterised by its relatively large size, growing to a height of 4 to 6 meters.

Care
The Acer Palmatum 'Osakazuki' needs nutritious, well-drained soil and should be planted in a location with partial shade to full sun, although potential damage from late frost or summer heat should be considered. Nonetheless, this plant is fairly resilient and will generally thrive with minimal care. Pruning should be done in late summer or early autumn to allow sufficient time for the wounds to heal before winter begins.
