DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Yucca filifera, also known as the Palm Lily, originates from the arid climate of the Mexican deserts. Over the years, this species has adapted to harsh conditions and can therefore survive in dry, sandy soil. Additionally, the Yucca filifera is commonly found in the arid southern regions of the United States.

Characteristics
The Yucca filifera is a hardy plant with a slow growth rate. The plant distinguishes itself with its rugged appearance, with long, pointed narrow leaves that can reach up to 1.5 metres in height. The leaves are blue-green in colour and end in black, thread-like filaments. Moreover, the Yucca filifera blooms in late spring with cream-coloured, bell-shaped flowers.

Care
Given its origin, the Yucca filifera requires minimal care. If kept in a pot, a well-drained soil is essential to prevent root rot. Due to its drought tolerance, the Yucca filifera requires less water than many other plants. It prefers a full sun position, but can also survive in partial shade. During the winter months, the plant should be protected against severe frost.
