Origin
The Yucca gloriosa, also known as the Spanish dagger, has its origin in the southeastern part of North America. It's a plant species from the Asparagaceae family. In nature, the plant grows in the dry, sandy areas of coastal plains and forests.
Characteristics
The Yucca gloriosa is an evergreen shrub with sharp, spiky leaves and long flower stems. The leaves are deeply grown and stiff with a sharp point at the end. During the summer, the plant produces beautiful white, bell-shaped flowers. The height of the plant can vary but usually reaches around two meters.
Care
The Yucca gloriosa requires little care and is resistant to drought and low temperatures. The plant prefers a sunny location with well-draining soil. Although the plant is tolerant of various soil types, it's important that the ground is not too wet to prevent root rot. Pruning the Yucca is not necessary, but dead leaves can be removed for aesthetic purposes if desired.
