Origin
The Euonymus japonicus 'Microphyllus Albovariegatus' is a variant of the Euonymus japonicus and originally comes from East Asia. This type of plant is also known as the Japanese spindle and is very popular in subtropical and temperate climate regions. Although it was once used in traditional medicine in its homeland, it can nowadays mainly be found in parks and gardens.

Characteristics
This plant is known for its variegated leaves, which are dark green and cream coloured. They are oval in shape and the leaf edges are finely serrated. The Euonymus japonicus 'Microphyllus Albovariegatus' is a small, compact bush that usually does not grow taller than one metre. The bush blooms in the spring with inconspicuous, green flowers.

Care
The care of the Euonymus japonicus 'Microphyllus Albovariegatus' is relatively simple. It should be planted in a light but not directly sunny spot. Although it is drought tolerant, it prefers a slightly moist soil with good drainage. This type of plant is also very hardy, but in case of severe frost it should still receive some protection from, for example, a winter cover. Pruning is possible, but not necessary for healthy growth.
