Euphorbia acrurensis
Branched
4EUACKK05
Origin
The Euphorbia cooperi, also known as the African Milk Tree, originally hails from South Africa. This plant grows in dry forest areas and semi-deserts, predominantly in the provinces of Limpopo, Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal.
Characteristics
The Euphorbia cooperi is characterised by its branched growth, which gives the plant the appearance of a Christmas tree. The green, cylindrical branches can reach a length of up to 5 meters. The bark is grey and bears distinctive horizontal stripes. The plant is deciduous and produces small, greenish flowers in the summer.
Care
Euphorbia cooperi requires plenty of sunlight and only moderate water, as it is a desert plant. During the winter months, it is recommended to bring the plant indoors or protect it from frost as it is not frost-hardy. When planting or repotting this cactus, it is important to use a well-draining soil to prevent root rot. The plant requires little fertilisation, once a year is sufficient.
