Origin
The Euphorbia ingens marmorata, also known as Euphorbia candelabrum marmorata, originates from South Africa. It's a member of the Euphorbiaceae family and is originally found in semi-arid regions.
Characteristics
The Euphorbia ingens marmorata distinguishes itself by its branched, tree-like growth pattern. It's a cactus-like, deciduous succulent that can reach up to eight meters in height when mature. The plant has sturdy, flesh-coloured stems with distinct indented ribs and narrow, orange-brown thorns.
Care
This plant requires ample sunlight in order to develop well and to maintain its beautiful, marble colour. Too much water can be harmful, especially in winter, as it can lead to rot. In the summer, experts advise a minimum night temperature of 10°C and a maximum day temperature of 24°C to ensure the survival of the plant. Despite its robust appearance, the Euphorbia ingens marmorata is susceptible to various pests and diseases and therefore needs to be checked regularly.
