DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Hildewintera colademononis, also known as the 'Monkey Tail Cactus', originates from Bolivia. It belongs to the cactus family and is often found in the rocky hills and mountains of South America. The plant owes its nickname to its elongated growth which resembles the tail of a monkey.

Characteristics
The Hildewintera colademononis is a hanging cactus with a unique growth. The stems of the plant are covered with hair-like spines, which can be white or yellow. They can grow up to 60cm in length. In the late spring to early summer, the plant blooms, with bright orange flowers appearing along the length of the stems.

Care
This cactus requires a sunny spot and needs to be watered regularly, but not to the extent that the soil remains moist, as this can cause root rot. In winter, the plant needs to be protected from severe frost. It is recommended to grow it in well-draining soil and in a planter with enough drainage. Regular fertilisation during the growing season will enhance blooming.
