Origin
The Echeveria 'Black Prince', scientifically known as Echeveria affinis E. Walther, is a species of the Crassulaceae genus, originally from Mexico. This plant was first discovered in the early twentieth century and has since been exported worldwide due to its unique appearance and easy care.

Characteristics
Echeveria 'Black Prince' is a striking succulent with dark, almost black, fleshy leaves that arrange in a rosette form. The plant can grow up to 25 centimetres tall and 30 centimetres wide. The dark hues of the leaves intensify with exposure to more sunlight. In the late autumn and early winter, the 'Black Prince' produces bright red flowers that are attractive to bees and other pollinators.

Care
Echeveria 'Black Prince' requires minimal care to thrive. The plant needs well-draining soil to prevent root rot and grows best in bright, indirect light. Generally, the 'Black Prince' needs less water than most plants. It is recommended to only water the plant again when the soil is completely dry. The plant is hardy to the cold, but can suffer severe damage at temperatures below -3 degrees Celsius.
