Origin
The Echeveria Agavoides Red originates from the rocky regions of Mexico. This succulent belongs to the Crassulaceae family and is named after the 18th-century Mexican botanical artist Atanasio Echeverría y Godoy.
Characteristics
The Echeveria Agavoides Red, also known as the 'Lipstick Echeveria', is notable for its striking foliage. Each fleshy, lance-shaped leaf features bright red tips, which give the plant its nickname. The blooming period for this species is particularly during the spring and summer seasons, where the plant produces small, bell-shaped flowers on long, upright stems. The flowers are typically red with yellow tips.
Care
The Echeveria Agavoides Red has minimal care requirements. The plant needs plenty of light and thrives best in full sun to partial shade. The plant requires little water, especially in the summer months. Overwatering can cause root rot, therefore it is recommended to let the soil dry out completely between waterings. The Echeveria Agavoides Red does well in well-draining soil and can tolerate temperatures down to -6 degrees Celsius.
