Echeveria Parva
F00001006
Origin
The Echeveria shaviana originally comes from Mexico. This succulent is part of the Crassulaceae family and is a section of the Echeveria genus. It is believed that the plant was first documented in the mountainous regions of Puebla and Veracruz in Mexico.
Characteristics
The Echeveria shaviana is known for its beautiful appearance. The plant grows in a rosette shape with a maximum diameter of 25 centimetres. The leaves of the plant are wavy, thin, and pointed with a blue-grey colour and a pink glow at the edges. In the summer, the Echeveria shaviana also produces flowers, which rise from long, curved stalks and have a striking pink-purple colour.
Care
The Echeveria shaviana enjoys lots of light and warm temperatures. In the winter, it is advisable to bring the plant indoors due to a lack of heat and light. The plant has minimum water needs; overwatering can cause root rot. During the growing period, from spring to autumn, the plant needs a general cactus fertilizer once a month. Overall, the better the light and heat conditions, the richer the colour tone of the Echeveria shaviana.
