Echeveria aquila

DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Echeveria aquila originates from the semi-desert areas of Central and North America. This succulent is particularly common in the wild in Mexico and the southwestern United States. Here, the plant has adapted to the dry conditions and warm climate. These conditions have shaped the unique characteristics of this plant species.

Characteristics
The Echeveria aquila is characterised by its rosette formation with fleshy, bulbous leaves. These leaves are often bluish-green in colour and can take on a pink hue with a lot of exposure to sunlight. It is a slow-growing plant which, under optimum conditions, can reach a height and diameter of 20 centimetres. Like other Echeveria species, the aquila blooms with bell-shaped flowers on long stems, usually in the late winter or early spring.

Care
Although the Echeveria aquila is a desert plant, it still needs regular watering. However, too much water can lead to root rot, so it's important to let the plant dry out between watering sessions. A sunny to lightly shaded spot is ideal, as the plant needs a lot of light to grow well. Finally, this species thrives in a well-draining potting soil, specially made for cacti and succulents.
