Origin
The Euphorbia marmorata, also known as the Marbled Spurge, hails from South Africa. More specifically, this species is predominantly found in the Northern Cape and Western Cape provinces, where it grows in dry, rocky environments. It is a member of the Euphorbiaceae family, a diverse family consisting of a plethora of plant species found worldwide.

Characteristics
The Euphorbia marmorata is a succulent plant renowned for its attractive, marbled leaf patterns. The plant forms low, compact clusters of very thick, round leaves, typically bluish-green in colour with characteristic pale markings. The plant also produces small, yellow flowers on short stems, which typically bloom from late spring to early summer. Unlike many other Euphorbias, the Euphorbia marmorata does not bear spikes.

Care
The Euphorbia marmorata requires minimal care and is ideal for gardeners who prefer low-maintenance plants. This species thrives well in full sun to partial shade and requires well-draining soil to prevent root rot. Although the plant offers some tolerance to drought, regular watering during the summer months is necessary for optimal growth. In the winter, however, watering should be significantly reduced or completely stopped. The Euphorbia marmorata can withstand light frost, but should be brought indoors in severe freezing temperatures.
