Aloë zebrina 'Dannyz'
Product number : F00002682Origin
The Aloe zebrina 'Dannyz', also known as the Zebra Aloe, originates from the warm south of Africa. It belongs to the Asphodelaceae family and is primarily found in dry, rocky areas. Due to the favourable climatic conditions of its origin, the plant is highly resistant to drought and heat.
Characteristics
The Aloe zebrina 'Dannyz' is a succulent, meaning that it can store water in its leaves, stems and roots. The plant has long, sprawling leaves that are dark green in colour, adorned with light, whitish stripes. These stripes are characteristic of the 'Dannyz' variety and give the plant its second name 'Zebra Aloe'. The plant grows slowly and can reach a height of around 30 cm.
Care
The Aloe zebrina 'Dannyz' requires little water. Overwatering should be avoided to prevent root rot. During the summer months, it suffices to water the plant once every two weeks, whereas this can be reduced to once a month in the winter period. The plant grows best in a sunny to semi-shady environment and in well-drained soil. Although it is tolerant of heat, excessive cold and frost should be avoided, as the plant is not frost-resistant.
