Origin
The Ficus microcarpa 'Moclame', also known as the Indian Rubber Tree, originally comes from Asia. It is a popular indoor plant that primarily occurs in parts of India, China and the Philippines. This plant was brought to the West in the 19th century and has since then been grown worldwide as an indoor plant.

Characteristics
The Ficus microcarpa 'Moclame' is a lush, green plant. The leaves are elliptical, glossy and dark green in colour. A distinguishing sign of this Ficus are the aerial roots that can develop around the trunk. The plant is known for its ability to absorb air pollutants and purify the air in the room.

Care
The Ficus microcarpa 'Moclame' needs sufficient light, but cannot tolerate direct sunlight. This plant does not tolerate excessive water; the soil needs to dry out between watering. It is important to dust the plant regularly to maintain the shiny appearance of the leaves. Furthermore, it is important to place the plant in a draft-free spot and to give liquid fertiliser once every two weeks during the growing season. The ideal room temperature for this plant ranges from 16 to 24 degrees Celsius.
