The Ficus benjamina Danielle®, also known as the weeping fig, originates from Southeast Asia and Australia. It was first discovered in these tropical and subtropical regions. Today, this plant can be found worldwide in homes and offices as a popular indoor plant.
Characteristics
The Ficus benjamina Danielle® is known for its lush, dark green leaves and compact growth habit. This species is a tree that grows up to about 150 cm indoors. The shape of the tree is characteristic, with overhanging branches that give the plant its nickname 'weeping fig'. The lush, shiny leaves are oval in shape and measure approximately 10 cm long.
Care
The Ficus benjamina Danielle® needs a light spot, but must be protected from direct sunlight that can scorch the leaves. The plant has a moderate water requirement, it is recommended to let the soil dry out slightly between watering sessions. It is also important to mist the plant regularly to simulate a high humidity environment. The plant needs a constant temperature throughout the year, ideally between 16 and 24 degrees Celsius.
