Origin
The Hedera helix 'Green Ripple', better known as English Ivy, is native to Europe, West Asia and North Africa. This species is a cultivar of the common ivy, one of the most widespread wild plants in Europe and other countries with a temperate climate.
Characteristics
The Hedera helix 'Green Ripple' stands out because of the wavy edges of its serrated, heart-shaped leaves, which typically have an intense green colour. This evergreen, perennial plant can easily reach a height of 10 metres and grows rapidly. The English Ivy is able to creep along the ground as well as cling onto trees and walls with its climbing roots.
Care
The Hedera helix 'Green Ripple' is a low-maintenance and hardy plant. It thrives best in partial shade or full sun, but can also survive in full shade. As for the soil, the plant has no specific requirements and grows well in both chalky and more acidic soils. Although the ivy is drought-tolerant, the plant should be watered regularly during dry periods for good growth.
