Sansevieria cylindrica tower
Tower
1SACTTU18
Origin
The Sansevieria cylindrica tower originates from Angola, Africa, where it naturally grows in dry, rocky areas. The plant is also known by the alternative name African Spear, which refers to the thick, cylindrical leaves and the origin of the plant.
Characteristics
The Sansevieria cylindrica tower is a succulent characterised by its stiff, upright leaves marked by dark green, horizontal stripes. These leaves are circular in cross section and can grow up to 120 cm high. As a result, it takes on the appearance of a tower, hence the addition of 'tower' to its name. The blooms are rare, but when they do appear, they are generally green or white flowers in an upright cluster.
Care
The Sansevieria cylindrica tower requires relatively little care compared to other indoor plants. The plant is extremely drought-tolerant and thrives best when the soil completely dries out between waterings. It can handle a lot of light, but can also survive in low-light conditions. It does, however, have a preference for warm temperatures, as the plant originates from a warm climate.
